Maxwell C. Adams, D.D.S. | Oral Surgery | Lancaster, PA

Dr. Maxwell Adams was born in Minnesota, the son of an Air Force fighter pilot and Air Force nurse. After his father returned from his tour of duty in Vietnam, his family lived in England for two years where his sister was born, and then in Italy for two years before returning to the States. They finally settled in Kentucky where his parents still live. Dr. Adams attended Emory University where he received his B.S. in Biology in 1991. While at Emory, he was a member of the varsity swim and water polo teams. After graduation, he worked for a year on the coast of Georgia as a port agent for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. During that year, he had the opportunity to work in several divisions of the department including:

commercial and recreational fisheries
endangered species
shellfish
non-profit organizations focusing on sea turtle and dolphin research

Dr. Adams then made a career decision and change. He attended and graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1996.

After graduation from dental school, Dr. Adams completed a one year General Practice Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Adams then moved to Philadelphia, PA and completed a one year Oral and Maxillofacial internship at the University of Pennsylvania. He then moved to Iowa City, IA to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Adams then returned to the East Coast to join the practice of Dr. Eric Katch. While in Lancaster he met his wife, Audrey. They enjoy spending time with their daughter Tenra Victoria and cat, Wolf.

Currently, Dr. Adams is Vice Chairman of Lancaster General Hospital Department of Dentistry. He also is an anesthesia examiner for the Pennsylvania State Dental Board.

Dr. Adams’ professional interests include craniofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, alveolar cleft surgery, distraction osteogenesis, dentoalveolar surgery, and implantology.

He also enjoys fly fishing, deep sea fishing, and other outdoor activities.
