Eric M. Katch, D.M.D., P.C. | Oral Surgeon | Lancaster, PA

Dr. Eric Katch grew up in a military family. Subsequently, he had the opportunity to live in many states on the East Coast, as well as France and Germany. Dr. Katch received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with distinction from the Pennsylvania State University in 1982. While at Penn State, he was also a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and the Phi Sigma Biological Honor Society. Eric graduated fourth in his class with honors from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1986. Dr. Katch was elected to membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon. This prestigious honor society confers membership upon students in the top ten percent of their class in both the academic and clinical realms.

In 1986, Dr. Katch was recognized by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology by winning first place in the ADSA student essay competition. He moved to Lexington, Kentucky to do his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He completed his residency in 1989. Following his residency, Eric practiced as an associate in Hazelton, PA.

In 1990 Dr. Katch began his practice in oral surgery in Mountville, PA. Dr. Katch is board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Diplomat status is granted to select individuals who complete a wide variety of surgical procedures after the residency, and complete a comprehensive oral and written examination. In 1995, he relocated his office to the Lancaster General Health Campus in an effort to provide additional convenience for his patients.

Dr. Katch has served as the Vice Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Lancaster General Hospital. He has also served as the President, Vice President and Program Committee Chair for the Lancaster County Dental Society. He is an anesthesia examiner for the Pennsylvania State Dental Board.

Dr. Katch has continued to take many continuing education courses in order to maintain current in the contemporary practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Katch has a special interest in dental implantology. He enjoys being able to reconstruct a patient’s dentition using dental implant technology.

During his residency in Kentucky, Eric met his wife, Cindy, who is a psychotherapist. She practiced in the area for many years prior to the birth of their twins, Bryce and Lauren. Her career has now shifted to that of a full-time mother. Eric and Cindy enjoy living in Lancaster with their twins, and their Akita Dog, Clover.
